For each group, the identified control strategies address risks central to the themes: Fireground Operations, Patient Transport & Physical Exercise.

The Safety, Health & Survival Committee

The Safety, Health & Survival (SHS) Committee is comprised of a cross-section of the workforce ranks, with each division represented along with partners from the University of Arizona and Johns Hopkins University.  The SHS Committee will assist in the implementation and evaluation of the most relevant control strategies identified through the SPIFi project.

The SHS Committee was created in 2011, structured by the NFPA 1500 guidelines.  SHS will seek the best approach to produce proactive and relevant improvements to the health and safety of TFD personnel.
